Tin tiles were invented in America and were mainly used for ceilings mimicking wealthy European aristocrats who decorated their homes in plaster with fashionable panels and cornices. Sheets of tin were hammered out in cast iron moulds and the finished product was painted to give the appearance of hand-carved plaster. Our reproduction tiles are not recommended for the ceiling but do make stunning wall and floor surfaces for the instant vintage look. Suitable for interior floors and walls.  Shown here in grey.
